Temple of Apollo on Naxos Island in Greece (July 2007)
To walk from Naxos town (Chora) to the Temple of Apollo (Portara), you can follow the main boardwalk along the harbor which turns into a narrow causeway connecting the town to the islet of Palatia, where the massive marble gateway stands. This short, scenic walk takes you to the iconic, unfinished structure, a beloved spot for sunset views over the Aegean Sea.
